I learned my first business lesson very early as a young boy, watching my dad, who owned a corner grocery store, cry when he didn’t have a deli item for one of his customers. He left the store and rode his bicycle across town in a blistering August heat to buy the specialty meat. He told me to join him and we went to the customer’s apartment building, walked up to the fourth floor, and delivered the order. The customer offered to pay, but my dad refused. For a man who worked sixteen hours a day, not being able to satisfy even one client was emotionally devastating. The experience and the lesson remained etched in my memory.
A year later, I left the comfort of a high-paying corporate marketing position to start my business coaching/mentoring company—becoming an entrepreneur and honoring the legacy of my dad’s uncompromising devotion to customers. My company is an opportunity to put into practice what I’ve learned after an entire career in the small business.
I don’t believe in a one-marketing-fits-all approach; instead, I tailor my services to match your vision, mission, customers’ needs/wants, emphasize what makes you different and better, and assure that you have a competitive edge.
Adding to my broad business experience is a solid academic foundation (Honors B.A. in Psychology and an MBA in Marketing), as well as academic teaching experience as a graduate Marketing Professor and Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Touro College’s Graduate School of Business (an international university with campuses in the US, Israel, Russia, and German).
I passionately believe that there is no substitute for hands-on experience and having your future on the line with the responsibility of growing a business. This is not about survival of the fittest but having had the courage to take on challenges and to not be afraid to fail. I’ve made mistakes, learned a lot, and my clients benefit from how I’ve grown multiple companies throughout my career.
I know how lonely and stressful business ownership can be, but the good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way. With me by your side, you’ll have a patient listener, true collaboration, brutally honest, and a seasoned and trusted business partner. I have only one focus: to help you grow your business and to have a healthy work-life balance.
