Pretty Links is a WordPress plugin for managing affiliate links. It turns a long affiliate URL into a short, branded link on your own domain, redirects visitors to the merchant and counts every click. The free Lite version covers the basics. Paid plans started at $99.60 for the first year on 1 November 2026.
WordPress.org lists more than 200,000 active installations, and the plugin is rated 4.8 out of 5 there.
Who is Pretty Links for?
It is built for people who place many affiliate links across a WordPress site: bloggers, review sites and content creators. Instead of pasting a long network URL into dozens of posts, you create one short link and use it everywhere. When a merchant changes its URL, you update the link once.
What does Pretty Links do?
Branded links and redirects
Each Pretty Link lives on your own domain and sends visitors on with a 301, 302 or 307 redirect. Hiding the long affiliate URL behind a short one is what affiliate marketers usually call link cloaking. Paid plans add other redirect types, including one Pretty Links calls cloaked, plus JavaScript, meta-refresh and tracking pixel redirects.
Click tracking
The free version records total and unique clicks per link, with the referrer, browser, operating system and host. It filters out bots, including AI crawlers, and has privacy settings to anonymise IP addresses and limit how long click data is kept. Paid plans add conversion reports.
Nofollow and sponsored links
Each link can be marked nofollow or sponsored, which adds the matching rel attribute when the link appears in your content. Google's documentation asks site owners to mark paid links with rel="sponsored", accepts rel="nofollow", and says affiliate links should be "treated appropriately", so setting this per link saves you doing it by hand. See our glossary entry on the nofollow attribute.
Pro features for affiliate sites
From the Marketer plan, Pretty Links can turn chosen keywords in your posts into affiliate links automatically, run split tests between destinations and add affiliate disclosures. Pro also checks links for problems and emails you a digest, which helps you catch broken links before they cost you commissions. The top plan adds product display boxes and QR codes.

What do users say about Pretty Links?
On WordPress.org, Pretty Links holds 4.8 out of 5 from 1,322 ratings, with 1,244 five-star ratings. Recent five-star reviews mostly praise how easy it is to use and that the free version does what it promises.
The 34 one-star reviews are a small share. Several older ones, from four or more years ago, complain about upgrade and review prompts in the WordPress dashboard and about features moving to the paid version. A more recent one says the free click report is basic.
When should you choose something else?
- You do not use WordPress. Pretty Links is a WordPress plugin. Use the link tools of your site builder or a standalone link shortener.
- You only need rankings and traffic data. Pretty Links tracks clicks on your links, not search performance. Use Google Search Console for that.
- You send affiliate links by email. Check your email platform's rules first. Some, such as Kit, block many link-shortener domains and restrict affiliate content.
