Salesforce Starter Suite is the small-business edition of Salesforce. For $25 per user per month it combines a sales CRM, basic customer service, email marketing and a conversational AI assistant in one subscription. It sits between the free Free Suite and the more customizable Pro Suite.
Who is Starter Suite for?
Starter Suite is aimed at lean teams that want to get going quickly without a dedicated IT team. It suits small businesses that expect to grow, since Salesforce lets you upgrade or add products at any time. Very small teams with simple needs can start on Free Suite, which allows two users.
What does Starter Suite include?
Sales
You get account, contact, lead and opportunity management, lead assignment and routing, and customizable reports and dashboards. Starter connects to Gmail or Outlook, supports list email sends and includes task management, an activity feed, products and price books, and payment links. Sales forecasting and quotes are Pro Suite features.
Service
Starter includes email-based support with case management, a knowledge base and custom email templates. Macros, omni-channel routing and web chat need Pro Suite.
Marketing
Email campaigns come with smart segmentation, premade templates, a drag-and-drop builder, Einstein send time optimization and campaign analytics. Salesforce describes dynamic email nurture campaigns and lead scoring as headline Starter features. Additional marketing email sends are a paid add-on.
AI and Slack
Starter and Pro include a conversational AI assistant, powered by Agentforce, that uses customer context and carries out work from plain-language prompts, such as summarizing open cases. Free Suite has simpler click-based AI for record summaries and email drafts. Each suite also comes with a free Slack workspace connected to the CRM.
What it leaves out
Starter Suite has custom fields but no custom apps or objects, no automation with Flows, no sandbox and no access to AppExchange apps. If you need those, Pro Suite is the next step.

What do users say about Salesforce?
G2 does not list Starter Suite on its own. Its listing for Agentforce Sales, formerly Sales Cloud, covers all editions and holds 4.4 out of 5 from 27,585 reviews. Reviewers most often praise ease of use for managing customer data, the full view of each customer and the depth of customization. The most common complaints are a steep learning curve, complex navigation and setup, and cost. Salesforce says its small-business suites can be set up in minutes, but these reviews are not specific to Starter Suite.
