Google Workspace is Google's business suite: Gmail on your own domain, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides, with Gemini AI built in. Business plans start at $7 per user per month with a one-year commitment, and there is a free 14-day trial.
Who is Google Workspace for?
Google Workspace suits small and growing businesses that want professional email, shared files and video meetings without running their own servers. Sales and marketing teams use it for shared proposals and decks, campaign planning in Sheets, booking pages for sales calls and quick client meetings in Meet. Business plans cap at 300 users, so larger organizations need an Enterprise plan.
What does Google Workspace include?
Email, calendar and meetings
Gmail runs on your company domain with spam and phishing protection. Business Standard adds custom email layouts and mail merge for simple outreach, and appointment booking pages so prospects can pick a slot in your calendar. Meet supports 100 participants on Starter, 150 on Standard, 500 on Plus and 1,000 on Enterprise, with recording from Standard.
Documents and storage
Drive stores files in pooled storage shared across the organization: 30 GB per user on Starter, 2 TB on Standard and 5 TB on Plus. Docs, Sheets and Slides allow real-time co-editing and comments. Forms, Sites, Keep and Vids, an AI-assisted video editor, are part of the suite. Business Standard adds eSignature for Docs and PDFs.
Gemini AI
Every business plan includes the Gemini app and Gemini in Gmail. From Business Standard, Gemini also works inside Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet and Chat, where it drafts text, summarizes files and takes meeting notes.
Admin and security
The admin console manages users and devices. Business Plus adds Vault for retention and eDiscovery, and Enterprise adds data loss prevention and data regions.
