MeisterTask is a task and project management tool built around Kanban boards. Teams move tasks across columns as work progresses, add notes and automations, and track time, all in a tool made by MeisterLabs and hosted in Germany. There is a free plan, and paid plans start at €12.50 per user per month on yearly billing.

Who is MeisterTask for?

MeisterTask suits small and mid-size teams that like Trello-style boards but want a bit more structure, and European companies that prefer EU data hosting for GDPR reasons. Marketing teams can use it for content pipelines and campaign checklists. Teams that need heavy portfolio management, deep reporting or docs and chat in one app may outgrow it.

What are MeisterTask's main features?

Kanban boards

Each project is a board made of sections, and tasks move from one section to the next. Tasks can hold text, checklists, files, embeds and comments. Every plan allows unlimited tasks and unlimited team members, but the Free plan is limited to three projects.

Automations and recurring tasks

From the Pro plan, recurring tasks and automations take care of repeated steps. Pro also adds private projects, external sharing, advanced search and integrations.

Timeline, reports and team overview

The Business plan adds a timeline view for planning across dates, subtasks, a team overview, custom fields, custom reports and roles and permissions. Enterprise adds a workload planner and portfolios.

Notes and Meister AI

MeisterTask includes notes, a knowledge base for plans and documents that sits next to the boards. Meister AI can find pages in your notes, help write content such as emails or blog posts, and draft project statuses. Each plan includes a monthly amount of AI credits, from 20 on Free to 350 on Business.

Time tracking and integrations

Time tracking and reports can be exported for stakeholders. Integrations turn emails and meeting notes into tasks and sync calendars. Every plan can import projects from Asana and Trello.
